Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's a very small hose. I have it held together
by electrical tape. I need to replace it as my
mpg dropped badly and the car runs terrible

If the PCV valve hose leaks your car will run terrible. Replace it immediately!

Im not sure, but I think that small pipe coming out of the valve cover can be cleaned with some spray cleaner. Also I heard that the IAC valve could also be the issue. That can be easily replaced and inside the throttle body where it sits can be cleaned with MAF cleaner. Not sure if it'll help but it's easy to do, so it won't hurt.
