Noisy Chevy Malibu. What could this be?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2009 Chevy malibu makes a loud ticking
noise while the car is accelerating, the noise
stops once the vehicle is no longer moving.
Also my car is slow to take off and jerks as it
catches up to full speed, what could this be?

Is your check engine light or service engine soon light on? If so visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes. I suspect a problem with the knock sensor. Hope that helps! Jim
