Chevy Malibu Transmisson Failure

Hello everyone I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu with 57,000 miles. I was driving on the highway going about 65mph. I tried to pass another car and stepped on the gas to get around them. While doing so my transmission gave out and lost power for about a minute. The Speedometer went from 3 1/2 grand to almost 8 grand and started bouncing up and down. A warning light came on saying either service transmission or traction. I do not recall which on it stated. The light stayed on for a bit until the transmission gained power again then it went away. I was able to continue driving another 10 miles to get to my job. ​Does anyone have any knowledge of what might be the cause of this issue?

The check engine light went away after a few minitues. A few weeks ago I got a check engine light for Exhaust camshaft solenoid P0014. The light went away and never came back. Engine Oil level was fine.
