Headlight turns off randomly while driving?

Hello, I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 and the low beam headlights turn off randomly while
I am driving.
It use to work when I would hit the headlight and turn on. But now that does not work
anymore! It use to be only my left headlight doing this but now it is my right too.
Sometimes both of my headlights don't turn on!

I have replaced both bulbs. Twice. The wires are not melted, my friend checked. I am
not sure what to do.

Since you already tried new bulbs, I would start looking at the switch or the leads connecting to it. Also, try replacing the relay that feeds them (usually on the firewall in the engine bay).
