2009 Chevy Tahoe Ltz

Asked by GuruDXT7JX Sep 28, 2024 at 08:51 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I tried to start my 2009 Chevy Tahoe Ltz about
two months ago and got no power. The interior
lights started blinking. I got a jumpstart from my
neighbor and it started up. Ended up having to
replace the battery and alternator. Everything
worked fine afterwards. Two months later I tried
starting it and the exact same results before
replacing the battery and alternator no power
and blinking interior lights.

Is this vehicle sitting for months at a time, unused? If so you need a battery maintainer type of charger or disconnect the negative battery cable when you park it. Be sure to read your owner's manual before disconnecting the battery cable! Some vehicles require the computers be powered up at all times, no exceptions! Jim

Yep, this sounds like this vehicle is sitting too much, I had the same thing happen with my Yukon if it sat for more than a week it would not have enough battery to start, my Silverado is way worse, it might last 5 days before the battery is too low to start, so if i know it will be sitting I hookup my Maintenace charger and no problems.
