Clicking Dashboard, HVAC Actuator Issues

I own an 09 Impala. Purchased a year ago. Ridiculous
clicking comes from the dashboard. Replaced passenger
side blend door actuator. Clicking stopped for a few weeks.
Returned, but from the driver side. Clicks whenever the
door gets opened, or sometimes just at random while I'm
driving. Or. And this is the part that gets me, in the middle
of the night, no key, doors locked, engine cold. It stopped all
winter (assuming because i never had the temperature
control set on cold) and will basically stop clicking as much
if the drivers side temp control is just one notch from the
bottom. Is this problem caused only by the stripped gears
of the actuator? The fact it does this at random with the key
out, engine cold is what concerns me.
