09 Grand Marquis LS 65,000 miles. Engine "quits" for about an eyeblink.

Asked by GuruDT88FS Jul 10, 2024 at 12:10 PM about the 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Happens once about  every 350 miles. Not a misfire nor stumble. No codes.
Any ideas?

A bad spot in the TPS sweep, crank or cam sensor or both, intermittent ground to the main computer, wiring problems, early warning of an ignition switch failure. I have experienced all of these at one time or another. The hard part is catching it on live data. Sometimes the good ole wiggle test will make it happen.
