Brake lights don't work

On a Grand Marquis 2009 car the brake lights don't
work.

Either the brake light switch is bad, above the brake pedal. or, the wires going to it could be broken, there's a pigtail available at auto stores, I've heard. Or, just wire and spade lugs. Can you get it out of park? if you can, then check the bulbs, sockets. LCM is the last resort.
