So the engine turns over but will not start? If so need to check to see if there is spark from the coil, and check fuel pressure if you have spark.
I had the same problem replaced the battery with a new one even thought everything worked but it would not start. after having a new battery the car again would not start. called for road service , he ran a diagnostic on my car. everything was good he jiggled the gear stick and turned the key and the car started up. he said the car was not in park shift. but it clearly was. I had the problem again and after jiggling the gear shift several times it finally started. I have learned how to shift the car into neutral and start it from there when it won't start in the park position. I believe this is a common defect in this model. I have a 2009 Hyundai santa fe. I have less than 32000 miles on my car and it has not been recalled for any problems. I hope this info helps someone that has this same starting problem.
