how do you tell what size V8 you have if not under the hood and no paperwork, 4.8 or 5.3

It might be on the driver side door post if not as the first guy said it is in the VIN number.

Lift your hood and there should be a gray/white sticker with engine information it has the Litre info posted about the middle

it won't be in the door jamb. get your VIN and call your local dealer, they can look it up for you.

I called 2 dealers gave them the vin got 2 different answers

My Silverado it says under the hood on the airbox says 5.3 L and my 8th number is a z for Z71 I imagine

The 8th letter of my Vin is T. I need help with this as I'm trying to get a transmission and they need the motor size. I've looked all over under the hood, it's not there. This shouldn't be so hard.
