Lift back lock

Asked by rickster41015 Sep 13, 2015 at 10:25 AM about the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn off the car and remove the key,the liftback lock on my PT Cruiser
clicks and releases sending a warning that the liftgate is open.  This causes
the hazard lights and interior lights to blink continuously.  The only way to stop
it is to start the engine and close the liftgate again.   What could be causing
this?
