Fuel smell when starting

Asked by wmn1112gl Nov 11, 2016 at 02:03 PM about the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I start the car it runs rough and has a heave raw fuel smell in the
passage cabin, until I accelerate then the smell goes away ant the car runs
fine. Until I have to stop on an incline,  front up or back up makes no difference,
the engine starts running very rough, until it is back on flat ground.

You have either an evap system leak, clogged hose to the charcoal cannister, bad cannister, or a leak in the tank

That would answer the fuel smell but not the rough running, as well it only happens after the car has been shut off and restarted.
