I'm really interested in buying a 2008-2010 Jeep Patriot.  The one thing that I don't like
about this is the rear hatch.  I'm 6'4", and the hatch just does not open enough to really be
out of the way.  I fear that I will bump my head every time I put anything in or get anything
out of the back.  Is there any way to make it go up higher?

recommend a MINI....John Cooper is like 6'4" and has designed the cockpit for a tall man...and the most fun I've ever had drivin'~

at 6'4" you might find the patriot to be the wrong fit. I'm 5'11" , my brother is 6'2" and refuses point blank to drive it as his head almost rubs the headliner. I even have to duck to get in or out or to see overhead traffic lights . Ironically the front pillar also is a blind spot for the traffic lights mounted at the corner of an intersection.. blind spot upon blind spot .. not forgetting the electrical woes ...
