"Hermetically sealed" except the shaft prevents that....perhaps there are magnetically coupled to the refrigerant arrangements to increase reliability...when was the last time your Fridge need a charge?.....c'mon...NEVER that's because they are soldered shut...as should be the compressor is the weak link with nare ye a magnetic device to make it as reliable as a fridge~ MY Toyota hasn't had to have air conditioning service in seven years and works just as fresh as that mastadon meat~
