Battery light came on while driving then it died .

Battery light came on while driving then it
died lost all instruments and gauges wouldn't
start again now it will start but runs rough
and battery light goes on and off. Please help
I don't want to fix the wrong thing and still
have issues thank you for any help.

Need a charging system test. I can say you probably need a new battery after determining what is wrong and it is fixed so you don’t ruin new battery.

Check your connections to your battery and look for corrosion on the battery posts. If they're good, it's more likely the alternator, which most parts stores can test them.
