2005 Ford Escape ran out of gas. After refueling it runs poorly and It has a CHECK ENGINE light. Touble code P0300, multi misfires detected which it did not have before it ran out of gas

Since you ran out of gas & refueled, there may have been water in the gas tank. This would make the po300 code. Add an additive to the gas tank that contains icelphrofel (don't know how to spell) witch will break down the water, (The Red Heat bottle, not the yellow one). Other causes are vacuum leaks, but you would have other codes indicating a lean condition.
I would recommend changing the fuel filter while you are at it. Running out of gas may mean that crud on the bottom of the tank was sucked up.
