Question type: General

I am looking into buying a 2009 Jeep Grand
Cherokee Laredo I have never owned a Jeep before
but have been wanting one for a while this
particular one while driving it the owner stated did
it was always in 4-wheel drive basically stating that
it's all-wheel drive and then the 4 wheel drive kicks
in when sensed or needed he also mentioned
about the very poor gas mileage is that possible? if
so how would I know?

He is correct in describing how the four wheel drive works, adjusts automatically when it senses wheel spin. And the gas mileage rating will be 15-20 mpg depending how and where you drive. You can look up the EPA gas mileage ratings. If you are concerned about mileage, consider a smaller SUV like the Jeep Cherokee, Honda CRV or Toyota Rav4. Since most of the vehicles on the road are mostly large and huge, I want to be in my Jeep Grand Cherokee if somebody crashes into me a on a slippery road. There will be a better chance I'm still alive to get another full size Jeep.
