Suspect "body control module" failure . dealer diag and replacement recommended . Aslo check fuses in "PDB(power distribution box) under hood of vehicle if not checked already .

No answer, mine just started doing this today! I can lock all the doors manually, except the back tailgate. How can I lock the back tailgate? Thank you in advance!

Gail, I have the same problem on my 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport that the Power locks don’t close with either key or door buttom on either driver or passenger side, and with the key remote the car honks and blinks but does not lock the doors; did you fix your problem? And how?

So it looks as if the TIPM is the culprit for these Jeep Liberty’s. They need to be replaced and it usually solves the issues mentioned.

Just bought my 04 Liberty with 23,000 miles and it’s doing the same as all other complaints on this page, looks like no one has the answer.

No answer to issue as mine is doing the same . But I am going to check the fuse box in engine bay for loose connections or failed solders which will look brownish Also check the relays under plastics in footwell drivers side . I know u can lock the tailgate by removing the little plastic covering just above the locking mech on the inside tailgate door cover use a screwe driver to turn it to lock manually . Will get back and let you all know how things turn out
