Asked by GuruZ7JL Mar 25, 2017 at 06:25 PM about the 2009 MINI Cooper Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2009 Mini Cooper base with 11700 miles.
The check engine light came on with a p0014 code.
I changed the cam sensors and vanos sensors.
Cleared the code and it came right back

P0014 MINI - 'B' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance Bank 1...Possible causes; Failed Camshaft Actuator, Variable Camshaft Timing Circuit open or shorted, Variable Camshaft Timing Circuit poor electrical connection, Engine mechanical problems... Although the service manual suggests that there is a problem with the Camshaft Position Sensor, usually replacing the VANOS seal kit takes care of the problem.
