HVAC Blower Delay On Heat & A/C for 5 Minutes?
Asked by Guru95J1L8 Jan 21, 2021 at 02:02 PM about the 2009 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My Pickup has dual zone ATC. When you first start it the blower comes on
for about a minute then goes to low speed for 5 plus minutes on heat or A/C
modes. I about 5 minutes the blower will come up to normal speed and the
manual speed control will work again. During the 5 minutes period you can't
speed up the blower even in manual mode so you rolling down the windows
on a 100 degree day until it decides to work. When it comes on it works fine
in manual or ATC until you cycle the key switch. Then you have to go
through it all again. I Have had the hvac software flashed, replaced the sun
sensor, tried a different HVAC Dash Control, tried a blower resistor, checked
the overhead console infrared sensor, and replaced the TIPM. Does anyone
one have any ideas??? I still think is software for the HVAC or Body Control
Module.

I called today. I asked them to put in a concern with dodge to see what they got back. I have searched internet high & low but never run across this same issue.

No not that I am aware of. It had the hvac software update for the hvac recall. One other thing I thought of was we traded this vehicle in and the battery was dead for a long time. He put a new battery in it and brought it in. I bought it from our dealership just because it only had 25000 miles. This is the only issue I now of on this pickup everything else seems to work as it should. I have had it two years and now has 32500 for mileage.

Is the memory circuit in the HVAC Control head or module??

I have put a reman power distribution box under the hood and I have checked all the fuses several times. They have alot of problems with the totally integrated power modules I have found in my research. Reman unit came with all the fuses, relays and breakers. When I installed it I had a few lights on and cleared them. I have driven it several hundred miles with that install with no other issues that the one I already had.

Thanks for the help. I think I will do the BCM software update then go from there.
Did you ever figure this out my 2010 does the same exact thing.
I am having the exact same issue. Has anyone found a resolution?
I just got my 2011 Laramie 2500 with climate control out of shop for this issue. My control module does not like the aftermarket (NAPA Dorman) actuator. The shop replaced with the ones from Dodge dealership and works fine. We will see what happens. And shop said the actuators was still good but sending wrong signals to module.
I have experienced that with Chrysler products, you need factory replacements.
