Should I rebuild or get a different car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2009 Nissan Sentra with 43000 miles. I did not regularly change the oil. The engine now makes
noise and a mechanic says that I may need to replace it. Is it worth rebuilding it? Should I look for a
different car and trade it in for whatever its worth?

the interior, glass air conditioning works because it is low-milage, I'd recommend fixing the motor.
Fix it and learn when to change the oil. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/
go for used engine, youll be way ahead, labor and parts

Ride a bike and sell car to someone that knows how to take care of there. Stuff
How often did you change the oil? Define "not regularly"? A 2009 is awfully soon to need a new engine unless you went 20,000 or more and used cheap oil..but I go along with those guys, if everything else is in reasonable shape, fix it. Unless you are rich. Then just buy a new car, and this time take care of it! Get a service agreement with it that all you have to do is invest an hour or so at the dealer every few months. Or sooner.
Unless you drove it lots the engine has a 100 000 km/5 year warranty (not sure miles prob 60 000) and they'll do a new shortblock unless they see obvious signs of abuse or neglect. it's common in versas and sentras to do one before warranty is up.
