car won't start

Asked by bvlad Feb 20, 2014 at 11:50 AM about the 2009 BMW 5 Series 535i xDrive Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took my 535 xi  for an oil change and also tthey noticed that my vacuum lines were leaking which they've replaced. Took the car home then the next day drove to CT now on my way back I stop for a snack then got back in the car to put the key in the ignition car won't start. The headlights came on and instrument panels all lit up. I called a tow truck.. they tow truck guy try to jump still engine wasn't cranking..Towed it to the shop they tested the battery, relays and alternator and it wasn't the cause... could it be when they were replacing the vacuum hose to the turbo somehow something wasn't put back correctly ?

That depends on what hoses they replaced. If it was the turbo vacuum lines then they would not have had to do anything with systems that start the car. Could possible be a starter.
