Coolant Temp

Asked by Doug Sep 23, 2017 at 10:17 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 1SS Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 Camaro SS LS3 engine hit 248° today. If I am at a
light too long or in a drive thru, car always goes up to
anywhere from 223° to the highest ever 248° (today). Is
this a safe operating range?

Don't drive an over heated motor , pull over pop the hood and see if the fans are running . Or start it up and wait for operating temp. and see if they come on .If they do and it's still runs hot then look under the oil fill cap and tell me what you see .
