I'm trying to remove the center armrest as the latch is broken but there are only two screws. Does anyone know how to remove just the lod from the hinge?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I already removed the two screws by the hinge but there is nothing else. I'm assuming the interior lid pops off after that but I don't want to pry too hard for fear of breaking it.

I have a 2009 optima lx and was able to find the OEM on ebay for $19.99 USD.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Optima-2008-2009- 2010-Armrest-Upper-Latch-Center-Console-Genuine- Kia-Beige-/264183678430? mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l492 86&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 All that was needed for my replacement was to unscrew the 2 Phillips screws one on each side of the hinges. Then with a flat headed screw driver pull out the inner piece. If you have more screws showing unsure those before gently prying the inner piece out. Once out unscrew the latch mount. Put new latch pieces in with the spring.(I didn't need a new spring as mine wasn't damaged). Reattach the latch mount and pushed inner piece back in. You should hear it snap back into place. Put the screws back in. It took me less than 10 minutes to fix.
