How long will taillights remain on with the tailgate open?

Asked by xusmcvet Aug 03, 2014 at 09:02 PM about the 2010 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD

Question type: General

In low light the tail lights will turn on when the tailgate has been opened. However, the
manual does NOT state how long they will remain on. I just tested mine and the lights had
NOT turned off after six minutes. Does anyone know exactly how long the tail lights will
remain on with the tailgate open?

Thanks in advance

On till you close it. They come on to assist you in loading. Go off when your done.

I just tried it again and the tail lights turned off after eleven minutes; five minutes longer than the interior lights which turned off after six minutes.
