Where can I find a cheap engine for a toyota corola 2010

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Our Toyota Corolla 2010 need it oil, my husband put too much oil on the car, he drove it and the oil cover came off, smoke started to come out, the radiator pipe broke. We called AAA to take it to the mechanic, he told us that the engine had burned. He gave us a quote of $3,700, he said that included the engine and the radiator. I am trying to get something cheaper. The car has only 73,000 miles.

All you can do is shop around. I would consider buying a different car instead of fixing it.
Yes, agreed, see if you can find a mechanic who can source a used engine , so that $3700 might be closer to $2200
Thank you so much for your answers. The car has only 73,000 miles, it has never given us any problems, before the problem with the engine, it run great, this situation was my husband's fault, it wasn’t a malfunction of the car. We bought it in 2012 with 20,00 miles. We hardly drove it so it was in great condition. If I find someone to fix it for $2,200 do you think it is still worth it? After changing the engine, do you think the car it’s never going to be the same? Do you think it will start to give problems? I paid $375 for 7 years for this Corolla. I finished paying for it in 2019. I can’t do that again. I am asking all these questions because with this coronavirus problem I can’t afford to pay for a new car anymore.
A used engine is a gamble with the odds not in your favor. If you buy a used engine make sure it has a good warranty!
