Neutral safety switch

Asked by Arlinda Mar 29, 2018 at 09:47 PM about the 2010 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE and my
check engine light, vsc light are on. When
it’s scanned for codes it says that it is the
neutral safety switch. My husband put a
new one on but the lights are still on. It is
running my battery down, my cruise
control doesn’t work and my blinkers don’t
work but the hazard lights work.  What is
the problem?

I have a hard time believing a bad switch would throw codes and cause those problems. What are the actual codes?
