Humming noise in my camry

Asked by Alex Sep 13, 2019 at 09:16 PM about the 2010 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have been driving my car now for a few months
(the car used to be my father in laws). The car runs
great, the only thing that i have had issues with is
that the a/c sometimes blows a little warm. Today
while driving it started making a humming noise
that you can slightly hear from inside the car. It
doesnt get louder or stop when i drive faster, or
turn. Could it be the a/c? I turned my a/c off and its
still making the noise.

Open the hood when the car is on and in park and maybe you can pinpoint where the humming noise is coming from.. The AC probably just needs a recharge. When the system is low on refrigerant, you can get strange noises. The compressor needs the proper level of refrigerant so it is properly lubed.
