syncronizing computer when changing battery

outside of changing out the battery is there any resets or synchronizing of electronic
stuff afterwards?

you need to hookup a scan tool and reset the battery life in the engine computer or else the new battery can be damaged through incorrect charging patterns. also battery size needs to be identical or the vehicle will require a full system program to suit

Luke is right.The new Bmw s from 07 and some 06 needs to have the battery recognized by the Dme that tells the alternator a new battrey is installed for a proper charge.If you are in the dc area call euro motors service at 202--526-3800.It can only be done a the dealer or shop with the right scanner.

question! is it only for those year? (06,07) I have a 2003 and when i changed my battery, I drove almost 60 miles before my battery light came on. Is it a standard to reset the computer when changing the battery with an 2003 model?
