Car was revving at high RPM and would not shift. I took it to a transmission shop and they recommended disassembly for inspection/part repair.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The last couple days on some very
short to test drives, The check
engine light is back off, and it's
shifting okay but a little sticky.. Could
it just mean a fluid change, I bought
the car used and I don't know if it's
ever been changed, it would be nice
to save $2500

Thank you so much for your help! The code given to me was P2714 – pressure control solenoid D. Additional notes include: on test drive felt transmission gears slipping in second and sixth,
In answer to your question also... A fleet mechanic at work had previously plugged in a diagnostic tool and got the same code

Did you ever fond out what the issue is? I'm having the same problem
Me too high rpms and wont shift ..2004 srx ..
I’m having the same issue my codes are p0989, p0877 on my Cadillac 2010 SRX.
I have a 2007 Cadillac SRX and all of a sudden the car would barely move off the line, the wife made it home two days ago and haven’t taken it to read the code, afraid it won’t drive, but gonna have to. I will post the code once I know what it reads as the light did come on, not right away but did when pulling it in the driveway.
After 1 year I was able to recreate this issue with Cadillac service manager and mechanic in the car. The error code they found was P0-989 which was shift solenoid internal valve body issue. They replaced this part and hopefully it is finally over. Car was still under warranty and their cost was almost 1500 to fix. My cost was the deductible. So if you are having this problem have Cadillac to check that code
