2010 Cadillac srx help!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I bought a 2010 Cadillac Srx at an auction. It turns
over but doesnt crank. I replaced the spark plugs
and ignition coils. I got a new battery for the car
too. I tested the spark plugs and they are getting
spark. I also connected a diagnostic device up to
the car and nothing is showing up. I need ideas of
what it could be. Timing chain? Fuel?

If you show no codes and have spark, I would suspect fuel flow as the problem. Fuel pump or filter are the most common sources.
That's what I was thinking so I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and tried to start it and same issue.
If you have spark and it won't run on the starting fluid you need to do a compression test. If you have very low or zero compression on all cylinders the timing chain has jumped. Hope that helps! Jim
I am going to get a compression tester and test the compression on the cylinders. Thank you! I will let everyone know what happens.
I will keep everyone updated. Will probably do the compression test next weekend. I will post my findings. Thanks!
I did the compression test and first cylinder was at 60 psi and second cylinder was at 0 psi.
That's not good at all! Around 150 PSI is normal. At that low of a compression readings those cylinders won't fire. Are all the cylinders that low? If so, the timing chain has jumped. Hope that helps! Jim
Yes they were all that low. Thank you for your help!
I'm sorry to hear that! You're welcome. Glad to help! Jim
It happens! Thanks again. Jennifer
