2010 Chevy malibu Thermostat gauge not working

Okay so I bought this 2010 Chevy Malibu back in
October and noticed that the temp gauge didn't
always work. Sometimes it would read normal
(half) and most times would just stay in C (reading
nothing) never hot though. Now that it is December
still the same issue. I have now noticed that it
doesnt let the heat get super hot. I will have my car
running for a half hour or more when driving
around or taking a trip and it always gets warmed
up but never hot. In all my other cars or will get so
hot I'll have to turn the heat off and I have this car
running in hot and I never have that problem. Any
ideas what could be wrong?

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open, Have the thermostat changed
