Battery issue

Asked by Damien6499 Jan 14, 2020 at 02:58 AM about the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt 1LT Sedan FWD

Question type: General

I have a Chevy colbolt 2010 with a spare key. It
doesn't have the chip in it. But that's an underlying
problem. My battery died after I let my car sit for a
few months. So I go get a brand new battery. I
didn't have my license so I didn't drive. Id
occasionally started it every other week. Then I
lost my keys for about 2 months and then I went to
start my car and nothing. On top of that, after I try
to start my car with a dead battery it goes into anti
theft mode and locks my key in. What a quick
effective solution?

This sounds like a job for your GM dealer. They may want to see some ownership papers as well, so make sure you are prepared.
