Has anyone installed a grille guard on a 2010 Toyota Sequoia?

Question type: Car Customization

I tried to install a Steelcraft grille guard on a 2010 Toyota Sequoia.  Steelcraft, the instructions, and the boxes
all 'say' that it fits 2008-2010 Sequoias.  During installation, however, there is a plastic (wind deflector?) in
the bumper's grille that is directly in the place where the driver mounting bracket should mount.  Has anyone
had any success with this installation?  Any other brands you would recommend?  A local installer told me
that the Aries brand grille guard does not fit a 2010 Toyota Sequoia because the bumper is different than the
2008 Sequoia.  Please help!

I already tried and called Toyota Mfg N.A. directly. They redesigned this part of the bumper specifically so that no grill guard would fit it. The grille guard would get in the way of the Sonar system, which would (they say) be a safety concern. Luckily, I called the company where I bought my grille guard and they took it back AND paid for the shipping (I ordered it online). I had to package it and bring it to the local freight shipping facility, but it was no big deal. Unfortunately there will be no grille guards on the 2010 Sequoia. Hope you can get your money back, too.

unfortunatley there is currently nothing that does not interfere with the sonar radar, although i think i saw a sequioa platinum with a bullbar that does not interfere and hey its looks cool.

I have an '08 Sequoia, and installed an Aries bullbar. It looks great, easy to install, and does not interfere with the sonar system. You remove the factory tow hooks, and the bullbar is attached at the factory holes. It should be the same install for the '10 model.
