2010 Impala with 89000 miles, was sitting at a light and I'm mashing the gas it will not accelerate right then until I push hard then it will jerk hard and go what does this mean

You can have the throttle plate or the (TPS) throttle positioning sensor sticking, I had this issue on a 2005 Kia. Took the throttle body out and cleaned it.
