Why would my car have a error that it is saving battery energy.I have chacked the amps and the battery and they are good.2010 impala.

Your battery may be getting weak, have it tested.

I have a 2014 impala lt that went into battery saving mode what does that mean also my lights and radio still come on but my car won’t start . I even had a jump but still won’t start it just say battery charging system what is the problem can anyone help please

I have the same problem and it's very intermittent. I think the most common cause it the battery cables and/or the small sensor attached to the two cable on the positive cable. Other things to to check would be your serpentine belt, battery, altenator, and of course the battery itself. I have 250,000 on my 2009 Impala - the car starts fine and runs fine so I think the sensor is the problem and I'm going to get it replaced (and possibly the cables as well). The problem seems to occur more frequently during warmer weather so I don't know. I was thinking it could be a problem with the computer but if that was the case then I think I'd have other issues. I'll update when/if I find the problem

My husband believes it the alternator so we'll replace that some time this week and hope it runs. Thank you

I "just might" have another answer. The intermiitent problem (Battery Saver Active) in my 2009 Impala seems to have mysteriously disappeared - as Iindicated above it "seemed" to be temperature related. I spoke with a few knowledgeable people and mentioned that I was pretty sure it wasn't the battery cables, alternator, battery or sensor and they said it still could be the alternator even though the AVR test passed - if there is too much heat in the area of the alternator that can cause problems .... now, I did replace my whole exhaust system because it was rusted out and low and behold the problem disappeared ?!?! Now, I'm thinking maybe hot gasses escaped upwards from holes in the exhaust and caused the altenator to occassionaly cut out. The car runs fine and the message is gone and hasn't reared its ugly head since then ; but I'm still holding my breath and not 100% convinced ( YET ). I'ts proving to be a very interesting and challenging problem. I have a long trip coming up and the weather is getting warmer so I'll keep everyone posted. I just love the car except for trying to track down the source of this problem but perhaps I have found whats causing it - perhaps ...... ). Any comments .........

I turned. My car off to put freon in ac then i got back in to start and it wouldnt start.i got a jump and it still wouldnt start.

Having the same issue with the battery saver on my impala which I just got a few weeks ago, It can't be the battery, it's brand new, I just got it, but the technician had to disconnect and reconnect wires to get the battery out, I figure that's when he activated the battery saver, All the time I was riding around with the dead battery it never came on. All it's been doing is turning off the AC, I just turn it back on. Otherwise starting well.

Mine comes on for my 09 Impala LTZ, but it’s cause i have this sound system installed. I recently did the big 3 upgrade with 0g wires. It’s not the battery, i use a multimeter and it’s always at the correct voltage, running or shut off. It’s not the alternator cause i got a brand new one for the big 3 upgrade. I don’t think anyone else on here has the same issue as me (sound system) the battery saver only comes on after bumping the bass really hard while driving. but after looking at all the possibilities, i realized the big 0g wire on the positive terminal of the battery, doesn’t fit too well so it’s not a tight connection. Some people like me, just may need to get new terminal connectors to secure the wires better.
