2010 Impala LTZ with 3.9l engine is using 1-2 quarts of oil between changes??

Is it using oil or is it leaking oil? With only 50K on the motor, it should not be using oil. Check the tail pipe. If it is black or has black residue inside, it may be using oil. Do you have any signs of leakage under the car when you park it? One place to look is the intake manifold for leaks. Very common on GM engines for some reason. May be the material of the components causing it to warp or gaskets used to seal it. Oil pan also can leak or around the other bolt on components.

See the above answer from GMCCustomerService. Look and see if there is a gasket that is leaking oil. If the tail pipe has black residue or suet inside the pipe, than the engine is using oil. If it is clear or gray in color, it is a leaking gasket somewhere. DON"T let anyone tear down the engine until you make sure it is an internal problem. Get a few opinions.
