advance auto informs me my engine has 3 cylinders intermittently misfiring,
what can i expect for maintenance repair and costs?

Relatively cheap to fix. Like FOR said, its probably got some coil packs, spark plugs spark plug lead wires, or distributer cap that need replacing and it would be good to have all components replaced with new. Probably cost about $300 but a shop can estimate this work for you.
