of course the Toyota garage will recommend a whole host of service tasks
(they are in the business to make money!) but what does my car really need? -
beyond the oil change, tire rotation and check fluid levels?
Thanks so much.

check all belts.hoses.service cooling system, service trans, maybe service rear end, check ac for leakes, check brakes/ wheel bearings,.tires wearing ok..alignment...wiper blades,... vat charging system (check battery and starter load test)..and on and on...if you look up recomended service for your car..it will give you a better idea...change over to synthetic oils...
It's a major service interval - follow whatever the dealer and owner's manual says is necessary.
Gugoda- yes, and by the way, here's something I recently discovered on my 2009 Toyota Prius with 63,000 miles. The engines and transmission in these cars are great, you'll probably be good for 200,000 miles or very close to that. The only thing is, the suspension is not as good as many other cars, so, you might have to spend extra money on struts, tires and wheel alignments. Just found out this morning at 63,000 miles, that our car needs all new struts, tires and wheel alignments. Wow, $1,500.
