2010 Focus Transmission dies... Vet cries.

My 2010 Focus SES had a solenoid failure
causing the transmission to fail to engage.
(I only know it was the solenoid because I
hooked up my diagnostic tester). The
mechanic advised me that I could he could
replace or rebuild it. I chose to rebuild. Now
that it is six months past the warranty's span  
it has failed again. I need some advice on
where to go from here. The car is unsellable
as it was wrecked and the airbag system
was never reset. The only thing I can think of
is to scrap it I cannot see myself throwing
that much more cash into the car that I don't
have.
