Ford Escape 2010 Engine light on and "check fuel fill inlet" message

Asked by NOFordAnymore Aug 17, 2018 at 12:38 PM about the 2010 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got the message "check fuel fill inlet" half year ago, sent to dealer, they
reset it. and it came back again last month.  Also, a few days ago, the engine
lights on. Don't know what I should do cause looks like so many complaints
about the same issue, just wondering why Ford still doesn't send a call-back
to resolve the issue and leave the customers keep wasting our money to
send to the dealers. Definitely no good for Ford's reputation or they don't
want reputation anymore!!!

Try swapping the full cap. They sometimes get clogged with dust and debris and don’t breathe correctly

I have 180,000 miles on my 2010 Ford Escape and this light has cost me 1400 so far im done messing with it!
