Tail lights have a circuit all to themselves, turn signal, hazards and brake lite all share the same wire. Check the brake light switch, it's mounted on top of the brake pedal use a test light just so you know a bad turn switch can cause the brake lights not to work, do the hazards work? As for tail lights let's start in a easy place, remove One of the bulbs turn the tail lights on with a test lite probe the brown wire does it light? Make sure of your test light ground, even if you have to run a wire all the way to the battery if no light remove the headlight switch check for current at brown wire if none there replace switch. There you've tested both ends if you didn't find it get ready to get dirty get underneath and look for broken, rusted and burned wiring, You also may want to add a ground wire to the box (bed) you'll need it eventually I hope this helps you
