2010 haundai sonota fails to start

engine fails to start on  2010 haundai  sonota. lights come on and I can hear the appendix spin.I checked the fuses and everything checks out. what could be the problem?

When you say you can hear the appendix spin ( starter drive) is it turning the motor over or just spinning inside of starter.

Just spin but for only a second then dies off. It started just a minute ago and I thought it was because I hade to hold the break but now it's not starting again doing the same thing
