i pressed the fuel pump shut off switch unintentionally, is there any negative effects this will cause? does it even do anything if you press it when it is not needed ?

i found the switch and decided it would be a good idea to press it and see what
happens...  i am not noticing any adverse effects from pressing it but i am
curious and nervous that if pressed when its not needed, it will harm the fuel
pump system. PLEASE HELP!~ lol

Just make sure when you turn your key to the on position that you can hear the fuel pump prime up or the vehicle just wont start, no biggy, just hit the button again and listen for the pump. The fuel pump shut off is just an electrical switch to cut power to the fuel pump.
