Are Audi A4 about 2010-11 range costly to maintain? Can you have a local mechanic work with it? Also what would be a nice good looking start up cars which are easy to maintain and reliable under 20,000$?

It is highly recommended not to have your average joe blow mechanic work on your audi. You must have a registered audi mechanic work on the car which is fairly rare, unless you go directly to audi for repairs or matenice. And new models can be fairly costly for repairs but this can be said for any car you buy that is that new in make and model.
Appreciate it on the insight, I mean if you take a Toyota or a Honda for instance they can be fixed cheap at a local mechanic; since Audi is grouped VW would the parts be cheap? like a Passat a nice and easy to maintain car. What would your recommend as a starter car?
i would recamend a small car like a chev cobat or volt for a starter car that new. they are cheap on gas and easy to maintain. an audi in it self is a nice car but they are a bugger to maintain. the timing belt change alone will run you up the price of a good used car at 2000$ in some places. The vw is said to be cheaper in repairs but in reality they are the exact same car as the audi just wit ha different symbol on the front. im always taking parts off of vw's and audi's for parts at the scrap yard because they have similar parts. This is not to discourage you tho audis are indefantly a nice car to drive. jsut unlike a honda where you can neglect it for long periods of time, an audi and vw you have to be maticulus with. If you want a decent car from vw and audi tho look for a tdi. it is the deisel equivalant of the same car they are from what i hear much easier to maintain then the gas version.
