can the o2 sensor be faulty and not the catalytic converter

The code is PO420. I bought some Cataclean to try. I am trading the car within the next 500 miles so I need the light off when I go to the dealer.

okay if you are trading it in just disconnect the battery to reset it the day you do if the light comes back on the sensor is bad
