Why is Chrysler telling me that I have to buy the 3rd engine for my car when it only has 100.4k on the car itself?

Asked by Jojo1227 Jun 21, 2018 at 07:54 PM about the 2010 Chrysler 300 Touring RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2010 Chrysler 300. First engine went out at 35k. Second engine (Chrysler
paid due to warranty-but took a long time to prove to them it wasn't my issue)
was replaced at 67k. Was told it was because I didn't take my car to a dealer
to change oil, so therefore, I didn't change it. Engine put in and now this one
is gone at 100.4k miles. Was told that since the CAR is over 100k, the
engine wont be paid for by Chrysler. What is going on? I thought the
warranties were on the ENGINES and not the miles on the car with that
many engines. What is going on???

A lot of companies tend to base their services on mileage, year, etc.... It's due to value, the more miles on a vehicle the less valuable it is. This is one of the reasons why dealers pay so little for trade-ins. But please refer to your warranty contract, it should be able to give you some insight. Good luck
