Question type: Shopping & Pricing

In knowing that this is somewhat of a general question, I
was wondering which vehicle is viewed as tending to hold
up better in the long run- a 2010-11 Subaru Outback or a
2009-2011Toyota RAV4? Mileage will be about the same -
approximately 75,000 to 100,000.

The Outback will have a superior AWD system but the edge in mechanical reliability might be with the Toyota.

I agree with F_O_R, the Toyota will have the edge in the reliability category. The Subaru sometime, maybe soon, has head gasket repair in it's future (very expensive repair). How soon? No way of knowing.
