Dual clutch vs. CVT - Reliability shoot out

Question type: General

Dual-clutch transmissions, which date back decades, were developed in
Europe. They work like a pair of manual transmissions operating in tandem --
one with the odd-numbered gears, another with the even.  BUT,  do people like
them more or less than CVT?   And, do they save as much fuel as CVT?
