What size of rim can i use on my 2010 avenger sxt?

Question type: Car Customization
I just bought a 2010 Dodge Avenger sxt at an auction and has the steel rims with hub caps. I am assuming that they might be 16 inch rim, I want to switch to aluminum rims from another avenger. My question is what size of rim can I place on my car? Can I place 16, 17 or 18? or all three sizes will fit??
Thank you.

DO not stray from the size indicated on the door jamb...for three reasons....No.1 the way the vehicle behaves on the road was not figured by the people who designed the car No.2 the VSS or speed sensor will NOT be calibrated to the stated size...No.3 the insurance company sure would like to know if this was the size that was supposed to be on there in the event of a rollover crash~
I think judge roy has his answer on a cut and paste. talk to a shop that specializes in custom wheels, like NTB or Pep Boys. they can answer this question better, as well as any questions about safety or speed sensors.

if the wheels are coming from another avenger then you can use them on your car. look in your owners manual for the optional sizes that were offered. many times higher trim levels have optional tire sizes. your car sounds like a basic model. any size offered as optional for your car will fit and work as originally designed by the manufacturer. your door jamb sticker only shows the size that came on your specific car when it rolled off the assembly line. this is a great way to upgrade your car and still have a factory ride and also make your car look like it is a higher trim level.
